Katin Klassics: Nancy Katin "The First Lady of Surfing" with Local Surfer

In honor of our beachside heritage since 1954, we share a throwback photo from Katin's iconic past, featuring shots of Walter and Nancy Katin, Sato Hughes their loyal seamstress, pro surfers who wore Katin, vintage surf ads and more. 

Each week we share our favorite photos from the Katin vault and encourage everyone to submit any of their Katin history memorabilia. 

This week's Katin Klassic throwback is a rare vintage photo of Nancy Katin posing with a local surfer in his fresh new pair of custom Katin trunks. Circa 1970s. Nancy Katin acted as a second mom to most of the surf shop locals, always enjoying her spare time listening to the young surfers swap stories.
